Chicago Hurricane Aid for Puerto Rican Arts - special fund created by Segundo Ruiz Belvis Cultural Center to support professional artists affected by Hurricanes Irma and María – providing not only professional opportunities but support to provide relocation efforts.

Music, Dance Classes & Events – El Ritmo School of Latin Percussion (Latin jazz ensemble), hosting various local and international music acts showcasing the Puerto-Rican arts.

After School Matters – Chicago youth ages 14-18 participate in paid apprenticeships to learn Afro-Caribbean Jazz and Afro-Latin Percussion

“Borinken Me Llama” Public Art – a series of murals by artists from Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane María WHO worked in collaboration with local artists in Hermosa and Humboldt Park

Los Pleneros de Don Segundo - Plena is traditional Afro-Puerto Rican music used to celebrate in social gatherings and in protest to communicate against the local and federal government as an expressive voice of the people. Los Pleneros are the only band of its kind in Chicago and offers public performances and workshops for the community.
